Lucien's Family

Wanted to do a little bit of family background for my OC Lucien Sylvari, since I'm enjoying working with him more and more. Here are his family... including Demetri (his maternal uncle), Daleila (his mother), and Azurys (his father). In their home-realm of Ethestia, makeup is a sign of wealth and prestige so it's not limited to any gender. The more makeup you wear, the more high-class you're supposed to be (the reason why Professor Palladium never wore it is because he was born and raised in a poorer-middle class family). 

The Sylvari's are among the richest in Esthestia, as they deal with trading silks and other plush fabrics across other realms. The men from the family are also known to be powerful wizards (including Lucien), and are traditionally raised up to serve as the second-hands to the Esthestian royalty. Lucien was the first to break this mold, something his old-fashioned uncle Demetri is not very pleased about (especially as he's the direct royal advisor to the king and queen). Azurys and Daleila on the other hand, were pretty okay with their son's decision to live the life of a warrior... though deep down they do wish he wouldn't have had to work in such "brutish" conditions. 

(Little infos on their personality):

-Demetri is Daleila's older brother, and being the first-born son he was given much stricter regime in his wizardry training. Being so caught up in his work left him with no time for romance or starting a family of his own, so when his sister gave birth to a son, Demetri turned to him in an attempt to "mold" the boy into the next powerful Sylvari wizard. Lucien hated his strict-ness though and grew to resent his stickler of an uncle... even moreso upon Demetri voicing his vast disapproval of Felix (aka: Lucien's boyfriend). For being so traditional, this also means Demetri wants for Lucien to marry one of the Esthestian princesses to further raise their family's social status. 

-Daleila is alot more "relaxed" in comparison to Demetri, having focused her life in starting her own fashion line to further promote the family's fabric trading. This has also left her quite the rival to Stella, Queen of Solaria, as the two regularly act quite catty to one another whenever they meet. To Daleila, Lucien is her precious baby and thus she clashes alot with Demetri in how he treats his nephew; yet at the same time, since Demetri's the only other family they have left (as their parents have both died a long time ago), Daleila is too loyal to want to kick her own brother out of her life. -Azurys actually married into the Sylvari family, having grown up as the slightly poorer childhood friend of Daleila's. Not wanting anyone to know of his "lowly" upbringing, Azurys commonly hides this with lots of makeup, pricey feather/fur coats, and jewelry. Despite his "gaudy-ness", Azurys has some fairly "laidback" tastes such as raising a glowbee farm, meditating, and sleeping...lots of sleeping. It can get so bad that he'll be yawning off in the middle of conversations... much to his wife and son's embarrassment.
